Presentation of the 2010 May 22nd 5 to 8 hour AR

in Lac de l'Argile, Outaouais QC

For the first event of the 2010 series, the Raid Pulse team is proud to invite you to the Notre-Dame de la Salette area for a thrilling adventure race. It's a wooded and hilly location with numerous beautiful lakes and MTB trails, ideal for an adventure race.

As usual, we want to offer a quality event, accessible to all and including the three basics disciplines in adventure racing (trekking/bushwalking, paddling and mountain biking).

Teams will complete the course by getting to the various check points using a  map and a compass. The difficulty level is accessible to all levels of experience. Of course, an experienced team should make fewer errors and complete the course more rapidly.

There will also be an advanced run for teams that are looking for a bigger challenge.

-Trekking/Bushwalking ~ 7km
-Paddling ~ 8km

Nautical Section: 

New for this year Raid Pulse will provide boats for teams of two. Rental and transportation fees are included in the registration cost.

Kayak paddles are allowed for teams of two.

Solo racers must bring their own kayak.

Paddle rental: Simon River Sports (SRS) , a company well know for high performance nautical products such as kayaks and paddles, For participants wishing to try out SRS products, a low cost rental program will be available with the possibility of applying rental cost to an eventual purchase if desired.

Camping: For teams that wish to arrive during the evening preceding the race, it is possible to camp at the headquarter for 10$ per tent (all services included).

Hotel: For more comfort, you can rent a room in a log cabin motel. Only 60$ per night for the event; reservation (819) 766-2626.

Brunch: In addition, on race day morning, for a measly 8$ per person, you can have a brunch breakfast.

Congratulations to all the teams for a great race! The rain and wind made the task even more difficult. Crossing the finish line was an accomplishment in itself.

A big thanks to the people of the municipalitie of Plaisance and St-André Avellin who provided us with a lot of support for the organization of this event.

It would simply be impossible to organize such an event without the enthusiastic participation of numerous volunteers; a special thanks goes out to all of them for their contribution to making this race a great success.
