Presentation of the May 19th, 2012, 8 Hour AR

Race HQ will be at La Base de Plein air Air Eau Bois

Lac Sainte-Marie, Bowman and Denholm, Outaouais QC

For the first event of the 2012 season, the Raid Pulse team is proud to invite you to the Lac Sainte-Marie and Denholm area for a thrilling adventure race. It's a wooded and hilly location with numerous beautiful lakes and MTB trails, ideal for an adventure race.

This remote sector has never been explored by an adventure racing organisation. Let me tell you that it is quite a playground for outdoors and adventure lovers. We have already done a few course recces and identified many mountain bike trails, superb lake locations, kilometres of forest and and trails for the trekking and orientation sections. Be assured that we will make you discover this area the Raid Pulse way so prepare yourself for an exciting adventure.

As usual, we want to offer a quality event, accessible to all and including the three basic disciplines in adventure racing (trekking/bushwalking, paddling and mountain biking).

Teams must complete the course by reaching the various check points using a map and a compass. The navigation difficulty level is accessible to all levels of experience. Of course, an experienced team should make fewer errors and complete the course more rapidly.

There will also be an advanced run for teams that are looking for a bigger challenge.

Total race time is planned to be eight hours.. All teams must cross the finish line before 6:00PM to avoid a time penalty. Please note that this year the advanced section will be planned in order that the top teams will be on the course for all of the allocated time (eight hours).

Race results May 21 st, 2011, 8 Hour AR

Notre Dame du Laus, Outaouais QC

Congratulations to all the teams for a great race! The weather was great and racers had a blast on a tough and challenging course. This course was particularly difficult beause of the hilly area, the warm weather and also the navigation aspect of the race was a big factor. Crossing the finish line was an accomplishment in itself.

A big thanks to the people of Notre-Dame du Laus, Parc Régional du Poisson Blanc and Télébec who provided us with a lot of support for the organization of this event. Special thanks to the Fireman and to the Club Quadrilaus who helped us make the run more secure.

It would simply be impossible to organize such an event without the enthusiastic participation of numerous volunteers; special thanks to all of them for their contribution and for making this race a great success.
