2009 February 28th winter adventure race presentation

For the first event of the 2009 series, the Raid Pulse team is proud to invite you to Buckingham, QC for a winter adventure race. This area is well known for its superb landscapes, for its hilly and wooded terrain and is ideal for winter outdoor activities.
We will work in collaboration with the Renards Blancs XC ski club to set up this course which will be awesome.
As usual, we want to offer a quality event, accessible to all and including the three basic disciplines in winter adventure racing (XC skiing, snowshoeing and mountain biking).
Teams must complete the course using a map and a compass. The run difficulty degree is accessible to all levels of experience. Of course, an experienced team should make fewer errors and complete the course more rapidly.
There will also be an advanced run for teams that are looking for a bigger challenge. Generally, less than 10% of teams make it to the advanced course.
Total distance: ~ 35 Km
Disciplines
XC skiing ~ 15 Km
Snowshoeing ~ 7 Km
Mountain biking ~ 13 Km (mostly secondary gravel roads)

Results and archives of the February 23 rd , 2008 winter adventure race
There was a lot of sun on the course for the first race of the 2008 Raid Pulse Series. Participants traveled over 40 km on snowshoes, XC skis and mountain bikes in a magnificent landscape. A tube slide in the middle of the run made for a pleasant change.
The course gave a good challenge to participants. Simply crossing the finish line was a nice accomplishment.
The event was a great success! thanks to the volunteers and to the energetic participants.
A special thanks to the municipalities of Plaisance and St André Avellin for their assistance which contributed to the success of the event.
Thanks and Congratulations to all!
